Maria M's and Loghan's News

By: Maria M and Loghan

In math this week we learned about the different views and how we can use them to build figures. One of the views are the front view. The front view in this picture is a two by three. Another view is the right side or side view. In this picture the right side or side view is a two by two. The last view is the top view. In this picture the top view is the same as the front view, a two by three. The next thing that we did was the number three. It says if you don’t see it, use your cubes to find out wether either of these two buildings match the views above. It has two buildings underneath. Our class figured out the first building doesn’t work. It doesn’t work because the top view is different.
Another thing thing we did was play a game called Roll Five. We won against Mrs. Starr. The things you do in this game is you roll two dice and multiply them and that answer is the number you are going to try to get to, that number goes in the box above the five numbers that I will explain next. The next thing you do is roll five dice and those five dice you put in the little boxes below. You try to use those numbers to find your head number.

During independent work or social studies this week we have been working on colonial America. People chose what they were going to study. This picture is from Matt and Dylan’s project.

Also this week during guidance we finished interviewing people for our game called “The Play Real Game.”

The next subject that we are going to tell you about is writing time. During writing we are working on our twisted fairy tails. When we first started writing our twisted fairy tails Mrs. Starr read us a few stories, they were Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Bears, Rumple Stilt Skin and the Ginger Bread Man.

The last thing that we are going to tell you is during gym we have been doing our basketball unit.
