Social Studies:
Mrs. Starr and Mrs. Wright introduced a new project.  It is called “The Super-Starr Down-Wright Coolest State Fair Project Ever!  This project is about our 50 states.  We will be researching a state and presenting our learning in a state fair.

Math:
We are learning about equivalent fractions.

We are working on building and extending patterns.  We have started graphing expressions.

Writing:
We are finishing our Twisted Fairy Tales.  Some students are now creating a movie that represents their writing.  Mrs. Starr calls this “Digital Story Telling.”  I think that it is going to be fun because it will be fun recording our voices in the movie and sharing it with others.

Specials:
Music: In music class we played with instruments and followed a beat of highs and lows.  Next week we continue to practice this.

Library:
In library we took a test with  sentos. It was fun. We had to answer the question on it. There was true or floes  or a map or a a,b,c,d answer.
Today we got so books and at the end of the library time than we read poems

What we do in math
Monday: In math we are writing procedures. We are supposed to pick one thing to do with math and write a paper that could teach another person. Then you go step by step and you have to use real life examples.
Tuesday: We practiced math with partners.  We are practicing how to make charts.  This is the greatest thing we do.
Wednesday: This morning we talked about the calendar, its colored pattern, and the area or fraction of the markers.
Thursday: We are working on the calendar grid.  We also working on making expressions to represent patterns.  For example, T= n + 2 was one pattern that we represented in an expression.
Friday: We took an assessment on patterns with partners.  We all earned high grades.
What we do in writing:
In writing we are working on Twisted Fairy Tales.  In this project you make your own fairy tale and put it in your own words. We looked at the blog to find that Mrs. Starr or others gave us for feedback on our Twisted Fairy Tale: What did we do well?  What can we improve?  After reading the feedback we made changes to our writing. We typed and printed our writing for Mrs. Starr, so she could read a hard copy with us to proofread for a final copy. We continued to work on our writing.  Every day more people finished.
What we do in Science:
In science we are presenting our inventions.  As people present, students grade what they did well and what they can improve.
What we learned in Specials:
Music: We learned about high notes and low notes.  We also got to sing many songs and danced to them.
Library: We took a test about The World Almanac.  We got to chose our own books.
PE: In PE we practiced cup stacking and raced each other.  It was fun!
