Bailey And Maria's Class News Letter

Bailey and Maria’s Class News Letter

Monday: In Morning Meeting we read the message that Mrs. Starr wrote. She told us all of our jobs. In Library we did a paper on Dewey Decimals. During Guidance we did active listening. Four people were observers that observed people to see if they were paying attention to the speaker. In math we finished our morning work and did a paper on converting fractions to decimals and percents. Read Aloud Mrs. Starr read The Giver. During Writing everyone was working on their story book.

Tuesday: In Morning Meeting we solved the problem that Jillian and John made. We greeted each other doing the bow and curtsy greeting. Our class played a little bit of 4-corners. In PE we played paddle ball. During read aloud (we are almost done the book=^{D!) Mrs. Starr read the book The Giver. During writing everyone (just as yesterday) worked on our story books. Independent work we ether did our job, worked on our creative piece for our utopian community, finished our paragraph for our utopian community or work on our story book.

Wednesday: On Wednesday we read the message and did our greeting. Then we had gym. We played the halloween games. On was where we turned off the lights and had to find the object that Mrs. Gross told us to find. After in math we returned our homework. In writing we did the same thing as the days before. Independent work was the same as the other days too.

Thursday: On Thursday we did the greeting called the snowball greeting. For the game we played a couple rounds of What did I do then we played 4 corners because it got out of control.

Friday: On Friday we did the Mr. and Miss. (Mrs. for Mrs. Starr) greeting. When we went with our kinder-buddies we made ghosts out of a tissue, yarn and a Tootsie Pop. In writing we worked on our Narrative Poetry Story Book. During read aloud we finished the book The Giver. Then during math we did an assessment on how to convert fractions to decimals and percents, how to convert decimals to fractions and percents and how to convert percents to decimals and fractions.

EXTRA: Last week we did “Skype” with Mr. Swangbang’s class. Stephanie was in his class! Then the poet came. Also, last week we have finished our Utopian Society and our Story Books. Our Utopian Society is a community that is perfect in our own way. We had to describe what our Utopia looks like, what it feels like to be a member of the community and the rules of the community. We also had to make a creative piece that goes with our Utopia, these will be posted on our class bulletin board. Our Story Books are our Narrative Poem put into books. We have to have a picture for every stanza. Each stanza i son it’s own page.
