Writing: In writing some people are working on their digital story telling and others are working on their twisted fairy tails. Math: In math during this week we were graphing data we collected about the class. For an example, we graphed the classes favorite core subjects. Once we collected our data, we converted the fractions of each vote to a decimal then to a percent. Now we are making up our own questions to ask the class then we will turn the results to fractions, then to decimals, then to percents. We will then graph the percent of each vote on a grid.
Number Corner: In number corner we are plotting points on a coordinate grid. To plot our points we are following directions using a compass rose.
Independent Work: During independent work kids are working on their class jobs.Specials:
Music-In music we were quizzed on our so’s and me’s. We also played egg shakers and maracas to the beet of the music.
Library-Skills day in library we started to work with the world atlas. Mrs.Guertin also had us find specific places on the map using degrees and North, East, South, and West. We found the places on the smart-board. Book day in library we signed out book for our Kinder buddies and our states fair project.
Psychical Education-In gym we went snowshoeing. Thursday we just went for a walk around the school, and Friday we played a game kind of like camouflage. This week we are starting our volley ball unit.
Guidance-In guidance class Mrs. Sadaro pretended to fly into our town of Celtic City and she asked us questions about the town. (We are trying to get her to build a big business in our town and we answer questions she asks to help her decide where she will build it. We have to brag about our town) 
Other: This week our teacher introduced us to the newest member of the class, Grandma Chrissy. She is our class foster grandparent and she will be in here to help us learn Monday through Thursday. 
I think you guys did a good job telling and describing what we do in class and one thing you could improve on maybe telling what a core subject and maybe they could not know what core subject means.=}

ReplyDeleteGreat job documenting our class learning: the newsletter explains core subjects, as well as what's going on in specials. I like how you included pictures to accompany your main ideas!
I also like how you introduced our foster grandmother: Grandma Chrissy. An area to improve is possibly extending the class newsletter, by including an interview with another classmate or Grandma Chrissy...it would of been neat to learn more about her.
