Monday: In Morning Meeting Kady and Sam put a problem on the board. Kady and Sam (the morning meeting leaders) choose Taylor to solve the problem. In math we were learning about the Surface Area (S.A) and the Volume (V). To find the volume you need to write: V=Bh. Which means (V) Volume. (B) Area of the Base. (h) Hight. To do the rest it’s just like the order of operations. You bring down your work. For example: V=Bh bring down your work, V=(lxw)h. Example: Length: 6 in. Width: 10 in. Hight:9 in. V=(6x10)9. 6x10=60. V=60x9. 60x9=540. So the answer would be 540 cubed inches. On Monday we have music in music we have been learning about the different types of symbols in a song.
Wednesday: On Wednesday we kept on working on our math, volume and surface area. In morning meeting the morning meeting leaders kept giving us problems to solve on the smart board. Also on Wednesday we have book day in Library. On book day we signed out books then we finished a worksheet on finding places in the whole North America. One of the places that we had find are Timbuktu.
Thursday: On Thursday we had people come and teach us about the brain. The people brought in plastic and real brains. They also brought in animal brains. Some of the animal brains were a bird, a mammal and a squirrel. On Thursday we have usually we have gym but we didn’t because the people that brought in the brains used our gym time. Instead of having gym we went outside.
Friday: On Friday we also had other people come in. They were from IBM. IBM stands for (I) international (B) building (M) material. They taught us what was inside a computer chip. After they were done that they let us try a little experiment with these plastic cups and we saw into two lights. We had to find witch one had more blue light. Then we did a game with little cars and lights.
Dear Maria and Kyle,
ReplyDeleteI am super impressed with the detail that you included when describing our class learning: for example, you described volume and surface area using specific math language--great work!
An area you could improve in including more relevant pics to accompany special events (like the brain or solar cars).
Nice job overall!!
Keep up the great work.
Mrs. Starr
Maria M. and Kyle,
ReplyDeleteI think you guys did a really good job giving a lot of detail in the newsletter. You explained how the surface area and volume so well that anyone who looks at this newsletter will be able to do it on their own! You can improve on adding more pictures. It would've been cool if you put a pic of the brains or people racing the solar cars:)
Maria J.
I think you did a good job on the blog
ReplyDeletedear kyle & maria,
ReplyDeletei like how you told us how to solve the SA Volume also i think u should of put the brain pictures and the solor powered cars they were cool!

You did a good job explaining how you figure out how to use volume and surface area. I think a area to improve on is looking over your work and for type errors.
ReplyDeleteMatt
I THINK IT WAS VERY VERY GREAT AND LONG

Maria and Kyle,
ReplyDeleteI think you guys did a good job with detail and you could have not talked so much on surface area and volume because it is so much. You could proofread your work because I saw many typo's

Dear Maria and kyle, I think you guys did a very great job and i think you did a good job on having math problems so people that don't know how to do it then that would help them nice job i think you both worked very hard and i think you can improve on having more pictures for on Wednesday and on Thursday but other than that you both did very great nice job both of you:):):)
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job puting a lot in the class news letter
